POLL RESULTS
Polls are important in understanding the public's opinion concerning tobacco related issues and clean indoor air legislation. Because public opinion is constantly progressing it is important to keep up-to-date with the most recent public opinion polls. Not only do polls tell us what the public is thinking, but they help us to see how well educated the public is on certain issues allowing us to better tailor our educational initiatives. In addition, polls give us legitimacy by allowing us to present legislators with concrete percentages of Illinoisans who are in favor of smoke-free policies. Finally, while it is smart to be skeptical of isolated polls, it is difficult to deny the results when multiple polls from multiple sources continuously come up with the same conclusion; the people are ready for a Smoke-Free Illinois.
