Illinois Legislature adjourns (May 31, 2011) and the Smoke Free Illinois Act is not weakened:
With your help, we were able to defeat four major attempts to weaken the Smoke Free Illinois Act during the Spring 2011 legislative session. There were three attempts to allow casinos to smoke again, and the fourth attempt would have allowed local liquor commissions to sell smoking licenses to bars, private clubs, gaming/casinos, etc. Thank you to all of our advocates who called, emailed and visited their legislators to protect the Smoke Free Illinois Act from weakening amendments.
